Blue Senior Buck

If any of you are familiar with " The DUTCH REPORTER "  there was an article in there in the last issue called ''THE WEE HOURS"   The article was written by a rabbit named TOMI, who lives with us and within Jack Jack Rabbitry.   Well....  Tomi a beautiful blue senior doe who took 2nd place at National Dutch Show this year,  died last week while giving birth  and sad to say there are no babies left.   I think I jinxed myself the week before when I was on the phone with Charles Sayles and was telling him that we had been lucky and had not had a doe die giving birth in over a year and we only had it happen one time. Then poof a few days later it happened again.  We do have a full sister to Tomi so hopefully she will produce some good babies to keep the bloodlines going.

Tomi got her name as she was a rabbit from Tom Dietrich and my mom just loved her.   So she named the rabbit Tomi after him.   So then a few weeks later she acquired a beautiful Chocolate buck from Tom D. and Tom named this buck Sandi after my mother.  Took me a while to figure out why a doe had a bucks name and a buck had a does name but now I understand.  LOL   I do have a cute nice little steel named CHUCKIE after Charlie Sayles and he got his name because #1 I got him from Charles, and when I got Chuckie he had some issues with is teeth and I took him to the dentist ( Dr. Mike Smith ) and after the dentist was done with him he was bleeding at the mouth and so on and he was a hot mess.  So I thought he looked like that ugly chuckie doll from the Chuckie movies.  So that's how he got his name and it fits perfect.  His teeth look great now too!!!!   One last thing...  while we are speaking of rabbits named after real people....the biggest "shit head" in the whole herd is coincidently name MIKEY  after MIKE SMITH>   go figure...
